Question

Hello,

I have a family history of glaucoma. Two years ago, i checked my eyes in vietnam because i was seeing lights and i coudn't see properly after big running efforts.

They checked and they said everything was fine. Two years later i did a head stand yoga posture and everything went really wrong, there were something wrong with my eyes, they hurt, i felt like vomiting i was dizzy.

I went to check them , they said the eye pressure was fine, sight was fine but the veins going to the retina looked like somebody that has hypertension problems or cardiovascular problem. Then i went to take my blood pressure and i had very low blood pressure and that's why i was getting dizzy.

Now the low blood pressure seems to be related to the eye symptoms , the feel dry, like i have sand on them and like i cant relax them. Vision is not very good. I haven't checked anything else. They told me to check my heart. I don't know what to do. I'm healthy person.

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

It seems you have tortuous retinal blood vessels in both eyes if we compare the old and the new pics that you provided. This new sign requires further investigations to find out the cause. Here are some of the causes of tortuous retinal blood vessels:

1- Hypertension, arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular disease.

2- Carotid artery disease

2- Diabetes.

3- Hyperviscosity syndromes (anemia and antiphopspholipid antibody state).

4- Arteriovenous Malformation.

You should follow with a cardiologist for further management
