Question
Hi,
Bilaterally, Lenses of my eyeglasses do not coordinate with each other. Each lens is fine on its own but not with the other. This has been true in the last few pairs of eyeglasses that I have had.
One glaucoma surgeon rendered one eye good for distance and the other for close-up needs. This was years ago. Recently, I'm told this is the reason my prescriptions cannot be made suitable.
Do you think I should just "settle?"
Thanks
Answer
Thanks for your Question
It seems there is a difference between the refractive powers of each eye in which you see good with each eye but together they are not working fine and this is called anisometropia. Anisometropia occurs when the difference between both eyes more than 2.5D.
The most important thing in treating this condition is by reducing the difference of refractive power between each eyes which can be done by Lasik eye surgery or intraocular lens implantation.
Sometimes wearing contact lenses instead of eyeglasses can be very helpful.
You did multiple eye surgery and you have glaucoma, i am not sure if any of these can be helpful for you. You should discuss these options with your eye doctor.
